20 have booked flights so far. 24 went last time we were there. Can we beat the record?
Looks like a good trip in prospect. More cry ons than cry offs! Trap is jealous…..
+ Rob Smith and Alan Kavanagh already over there!
Lads,
Rob Smith, our man in Swindon, is arranging games on weekend of 11th /12th June.
Plan is to fly out on Friday 10th June and return on Sunday 12th.
Flights are €62 at present (to Bristol) and rooms in Holiday Inn are £50 per night. That’s only £25 per head.
So cost per head per weekend would be less than €130. Cheap as chips!
Swindon has been a big success on previous trips – we have been there 3 times before.
Need indication of interest by this Friday. Log on here or on Facebook to make your comment.
Pegasus v Spartak in the Tom Cullen Cup Final in Kilnamanagh’s ground at 2.30 on Saturday 7th May.
All support very welcome.

The seniors travelled to Finglas on Saturday believing they had a chance against Griffith Rovers in the semis of the Clifford cup.Unfortunately the game was over after 20 mins as Griffith started with some smooth passing and some excellent football which seen them bag three in 20 mins.Through no fault of our own Griffith were just way ahead as they had class coming from all areas of the pitch. One linesman commented that they would give most league of Ireland teams a run for there money.Personally I think the league need to have a look at what way these cups are structured but hey that just sounds like sour grapes.Anyway, taking nothing away from our guys to see what we came up against all I can do is commend them for getting so far in this competition.Hats off to ourselves for a good run in this cup and hats off to Griffith Rovers a smashing side and great hosts on the day.
The game finished 6-0 on the day to Griffith…….

Larkview boys chasing the league came to Marlay park looking for three points to add to their tally and Spartak seniors duly rolled over and obliged.Having worked very hard in the first half to keep it to a scoreless draw , all our hard work was undone by a very poor second half.Larkview stepped up the pressure and a combination of bad defending, little imagination going forward, and chasing our tails up front let Larkview dictate the second half and claim all three points with four second half goals.Larkview were well worth their three points and certainly looked like a team that can win this league hands down.Spartak were made look very ordinary and with only two weeks to go to the semi finals of the cup some questions need to be asked.

Another great cup win from the Seniors on Saturday. We travelled all the way to Portmarnock expecting a tough game but to be honest we were dissapointed with the opposition.Although we had a very lack lustre first half we pushed on in the second half to great effect. Some words of encourement is all it took to get the team to play football and move forward of which the opposition had no answer. The two goals both came in the second half ,the first a quick break from Ken Bynre which saw him out run the opposition and out smart the keeper with a bullet of a shot from 15 yards, pin point I might add.The second was a breaking move from the back which saw Frank McNamee pick up the ball at half way, go on a run that would seen him beat two players, have the composure to stop have a look and slot the ball across the box to Matt Grimes who slotted home, probably the most unselfish act on the pitch this season as most players would have tried from a difficult angle .Overall a very well deserved win and the cup specialists push on……

The over 35’s or the Seniors which I propose to call them from now on ,beat Ratoath Harps in the 1/4 Finals of the Clifford cup on Peno’s on Sat 12th March. Ratoath who play their football in Senior Div 1 North arrived with a swagger and left with their tales between their legs after a fine display from the seniors. This went to the wire but some very cool penalty takes from the lads and a penalty save from Jimmy assured a semi final to look forward to for the first time.1-1 on the day and 8-7 on Peno’s.

We have a winner……Its the Gaffer. Spurs let everyone down and Ross never posted a team so he got Newcastle. The Gaffer wisely went for mighty Everton…..They never let anyone down except for Shane!
